Most clubs that start off exclusively catering to the overly rich and beautiful, pull it off for about a month or two before they lose focus and begin pretending to be picky while letting undesirables trickle in. Years after opening it’s doors to none but the crème de la crème, only Mynt Lounge has managed to keep the iron velvet rope in place.
From outside, Mynt looks like just another hole in the wall. Definitely nothing special to speak of…except for the huge crowd of people trying to shove past each other at a chance of being spotted by
door crew. But why?
So you've done your time outside, but today luck is on your side and so you get past the rope. You walk through the door and all you can think is...wait for it... what a let down. Visually Mynt is a joke, black carpet--the type you would expect to find in a movie theater--covers the entire floor, except for the green rope lights strung around the edges. Yes I just said green rope lights. The whole look is finished off by 6-8 projectors hanging from the ceiling projecting video across the majority of the wall space in Mynt. So back to the question: Why does everyone want to be in here?
Mynt is not about the decor, it's about the vibe. Mynt boasts one of the best vibes you will find on South Beach. The bars are vacant leaving the bar tenders with almost nothing to do, not because people are not drinking but because they are only ordering bottle service. Every table in Mynt is usually taken, the DJs are phenomenal and everyone is just about having a great time. But is that enough?
If you have a shot at getting into Mynt, meaning you either have a lot of cash or are extremely beautiful (literally you are a model) then it is definitely worth the effort of checking out. If you manage to get inside you will be partying with one of the best crowds on South Beach.
HOT: Great music and even a better vibe.
NOT: Decor needs some love.
